History:

EUFoam is a biennial conference dedicated to foams and their applications, with researchers attending from Europe and further afield.

The first conference took place in Renvyle (Ireland) in 1994, followed by Arcachon (France), Delft (Netherlands), Manchester (UK), Marne-la-Vallée (France), Potsdam (Germany), Noordwijk (Netherlands), Borovets (Bulgaria), Lisbon (Portugal), Thessaloniki (Greece), Dublin (Ireland), Liege (Belgium), Aberystwyth (Wales) and Krakow (Poland).

EUFoam 2024 is the 15th conference in this series.

Scope:

The conference is concerned with research and innovation concerning the structure, dynamics and applications of liquid foams and closely-related materials such as highly concentrated emulsions and cellular materials. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Physical chemistry of thin liquid films, foams and emulsions

  • Foam structure, Plateau’s laws, topological properties of cellular materials, packing problems

  • Foam stability: drainage, coarsening, and coalescence

  • Particles / aggregates or fibers in foam and froth
  • Foam flow, foam rheology, interfacial rheology, dynamics of surfactant-laden interfaces

  • Experimental techniques for liquid foam, froth and emulsions

  • Industrial and novel applications of liquid foam and froth

Scientific Committee:

  • Dominique Langevin (Université Paris-Saclay)
  • Simon Cox (Aberyswyth University)
  • Nikolai Denkov (Sofia University)
  • Benjamin Dollet (Université Grenoble Alpes)
  • Paul Grassia (Strathclyde University)
