Dresden

Dresden is situated in the east of Germany, 150 km south of Berlin at the river Elbe. It is renown for its baroque city center and many art collections.

Besides Dresden Airport, the airports Berlin, Prague, and Halle/Leipzig are located nearby and connected to Dresden by train and bus.

Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf

The conference will take place at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, situated in the outskirts of Dresden (MAPS). This former East-German nuclear research site is now part of the Helmholtz Association. It performs research in the fields of Health, Energy, and Matter, employing Unique Research Infrastructure.

Our conference will take place in the conference center of HZDR, in Building 106, next to the main entrance.

For individual travel, you may park your car here (MAPS) at the Bautzner Landstrasse 400, 01328 Dresden. Or you can reach there by bus (Line 261 or 229), exiting at "Forschungszentrum Rossendorf" (not at "Siedlung Rossendorf"!). However, due to limited bus capacity we strongly recomment to use the EUFOAM Bus shuttle:

Bus Shuttle

For convenient commuting, a daily bus shuttle from/to Dresden city centre (Postplatz) will be arranged. The departure point of the bus is in front of the Zwinger, Kronentor / Crown Gate (Ostra-Allee 9, 01067 Dresden). This place is within walking distance from all hotels in the inner city of Dresden. The bus will start 8.15 am.

Hotels

In walking distance from the bus departure place there are multiple hotels of different price categories. We recommend to book early, as Dresden is a very touristic place and the conference date overlaps with local holiday season.
