Postdoc Researcher (f/m/d) GPGPU Computing

The Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS) is a German-Polish research center for data-intensive digital systems research.

CASUS is looking for a Postdoc Researcher (f/m/d) GPGPU Computing. 

Your tasks

  • Research in GPU programming and (highly) parallel programming for HPC and Scientific Computing
  • Own research focus related to GPU programming such as (1) parallel programming models or programming abstraction (2) parallel algorithms or (3) performance analysis and optimization
  • Working with application field scientists from various fields and different levels of IT background and their ambitious HPC codes
  • Publishing results in academic and peer-reviewed journals with own research focus topics and in collaboration with application field scientists, presenting results at scientific meetings
  • Design, implementation, testing, debugging, and maintenance of scientific software
  • Work on data-intensive HPC workflows and adopting Research Data Management solutions for HPC projects

Your profile

  • Completed university studies (Master/Diploma and PhD) in the field of Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience with development tools and build systems, git and collaborative development, debugging and profiling tools
  • Practical experience and proven contributions (scientific publications or software development)
  • Strong motivation to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent programming skills in at least one of C/C++, Fortran, or Julia (more are a plus)
  • Excellent parallel programming skills with at least one of CUDA/HIP, Alpaka or Kokkos, MPI, OpenMP, HPX, or similar
  • Experience with Linux, working on command line and with shell scripts, working in HPC environments
  • Excellent communication skills in English and in a professional context, German language skills are a plus
