Preparation: |
The goethite suspension was prepared according to the procedure of Atkinson et al. (1967) as described in detail by Hiemstra et al. (1989a). A freshly prepared 0.5 M Fe(NO3)3·9H2O was slowly
titrated with 2.5 M NaOH to pH 12. The base was added at a rate of 10 mL min-1. The suspension was aged at 60 °C for ~100 h and subsequently dialyzed with doubly distilled water. The salt-free
suspension was stored in polypropylene bottle in a refrigerator. |
