Details Sample Characterization

Mineral: Magnetite
Reference: LYLJD14
Preparation: Iron oxides were prepared from 200 mL mixture solution of 5.96 g FeCl3*6H2O and 3.06 g FeSO4*7H2O at 70 °C under N2 atmosphere. NaOH solution (10 mL, 8 mol/L) was added dropwise to produce iron oxides precipitation. Then the obtained mixture was adjusted to pH 11 with stirring for 1 h and aged for 4 h at 70 °C. Repeated washing with deionized water over extended times was necessary to remove acidic impurities (ions). The obtained materials were dried in an oven at 100 °C for 3 h. [LFPLW11]
Sample characterized via: ☑ Scanning electron microscope (SEM)
☑ X-ray Diffraction (XRD)
Comment: Material was also used in [LFPLW11], but there another composition was described. In [LMLLW17] the same material was declared as Iron Oxyhydroxide.
