Collective dynamics of bubble swarms
We study the evolution of bubble clusters in a swarm of freely rising bubbles under different flow conditions. Our machine learning-aided algorithm allows us to identify and track bubbles in clusters and measure the cluster lifetimes/orientation. This comprehensive information is essential for understanding the collective dynamics of bubbles and can be used for instance to investigate the rise velocity of bubble swarms, which can be significantly different from that of a single bubble.
