Title

PET-MRI Whole-body scanner
Description
Germany's first PET-MRI device approved for whole-body examinations was first used at the HZDR in June 2011. Since 2015, the facility has been located at Dresden University Hospital in order to bundle the care of cancer patients in one place. The technically very sophisticated combination of positron emission tomography (PET) with magnetic resonance tomograph (MRT), which was previously not possible in this form, opens up new possibilities for cancer research.
