Proton therapy at OncoRay
Description
At the Dresden OncoRay Center, cancer patients are treated with protons as part of clinical trials. On the left is the treatment area, on the right the mobile computed tomography scanner used to determine the exact location of the tumor. Proton therapy requires a large technical infrastructure and is only possible at a few centers in Germany. In addition to the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, the supporting institutions of OncoRay are the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital and the Medical Faculty of the TU Dresden.
