Nanoparticles for cancer research
Description
The Virtual Institute "NanoTracking" at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf develops customized nanomaterials for cancer diagnostics and therapy. Extremely small nanoparticles are to migrate inside the body to tumor cells and make them visible.
A research associate analyzes the production of antibody fragments in the bacterium Escherichia coli. The antibody fragments are then radioactively labeled and examined using modern imaging techniques.
