Electronics technician / Electrical engineer (f/m/d) - cleanroom tool operator

The Institute for Ion Beam Physics and Materials Research is dedicated to the study of materials and their nanostructures that can be considered for future applications in information technology and are based on electrical, magnetic or optical functionalities.

The Department of Group Nanofabrication and Analysis is looking for a Electronics technician / Electrical engineer - cleanroom tool operator. 

Your tasks

  • Plan, design, construct and maintain our electrotechnical devices, systems or parts there of
  • Operate cleanroom tools, physical deposition (sputter / evaporation) and physical etching (reactive ion etching) in accordance to end user needs
  • Maintenance and servicing of laboratory electronics in the area of responsibility
  • Further development of vacuum technology, electrical and electronic system components for our research projects
  • Independent testing of fixed and mobile systems and equipment

Your profile

  • Completed technical training, e.g. as an electrical engineer (f/m/d)
  • Relevant professional experience in the specified area
  • Knowledge of the installation and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and devices
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, pliers and drills
  • Ability to test equipment, instruments and systems
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC)
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and good time management characterize you
  • Decision-making skills, creativity and flexibility round off your profile
  • Very good knowledge of German and English (written and oral)
  • Confident handling of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and programming (Python, Java etc.) an advantage
