Project coordinator (f/m/d)

The position is at the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF). The institute develops innovative technologies for the circular economy, including a more efficiently use and recycling of metal bearing raw materials. The position is related to a project that aims to develop a workflow for exploration that, in addition to ground-breaking scientific methods, has a focus on environmental sustainability, social aspects and applications of the methods in other research areas, e.g. environmental analytics.

The Department of Modelling and Evaluation is looking for a Project coordinator (f/m/d) (subject to final approval of project funding).

Your tasks

  • Manage all project activities in alignment with the project plan
  • Liaise with project partners, stakeholders, and the EU Commission to maintain effective communication and collaboration
  • Monitor project progress, prepare progress reports, and ensure timely submission of deliverables
  • Manage the project budget, track expenditures, and ensure financial compliance
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings, workshops, and events
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure smooth project execution
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, presentations, and records

Your profile

  • Completed university studies (Master/Diploma/PhD) of scientific degree, preferably in geosciences or related fields
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Relevant professional experience (1-3 years) in the research fields mentioned in the project resp. institute descriptions
  • Ideally you have already experience in coordinating EU projects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse and international team
  • Ability to travel within the EU as required
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional EU languages is an asset
