Assistant (f/m/d) Administration of High Performance Computing Systems

The Department of Information Services and Computing is the service, consultation and coordination centre for the Information Infrastructure of the HZDR.

The Department of IT Infrastructure is looking for an Assistant (f/m/d) Administration of High Performance Computing Systems. 

Your tasks

  • Administration of HPC systems under Linux
  • Administration of high-performance storage systems
  • Support of HPC users in the execution of parallel computing jobs, installation and optimization of HPC applications and tools

Your profile

  • Completed university studies (Bachelor/Master/Diploma/PhD) in the field of computer science, mathematics, a natural science or related field or
  • Completed vocational training as an IT specialist (w/m/d) or a comparable specialization 
  • Relevant professional experience in the specified area
  • Profound knowledge of the administration of Linux or Unix servers, HPC systems and parallel storage systems
  • Knowledge and experience in the installation and use of scientific applications on HPC systems
  • Know-how in shell programming and common programming languages
  • Experience in the use and programming of parallel algorithms using MPI and OpenMP
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English language skills
