After the first edition with a focus on FAIR data, this year the Saxon state initiative for research data management SaxFDM is expanding its field of vision and honouring exemplary approaches in the field of open research data with the SaxFDM Open Data Award.
In 2024, it will once again be all about fame, honour and prize money for the best submissions. Of course, these can still be "classic" datasets. But you can also submit ontologies, documentation for a system or workflow for good research data management or a best practice for data reuse or findability measures. You should keep open data and FAIR in mind.
It can be worthwhile not just looking at the podium: The jury reserves the right to award separate prizes for particularly innovative implementations or creative Data Reuse cases.
As last year, the submission must have been created at a research or cultural institution in Saxony. All submissions that are freely accessible and not older than five years at the time of participation can be evaluated.
The deadline for entries is 28/07/2024.
The award ceremony will take place as part of the 5th SaxFDM Conference on 17 September 2024 at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg (TUBAF).
