The main objective of this coordinated project is to develop a generic methodology for ranking of restoration techniques as a function of site (and contamination) characteristics. A manual is produced in which this methodology is explained and applied to major classes of site restoration cases. All relevant data are reviewed and documented, important sources of uncertainty identified and to the extent possible uncertainties are reduced.
The development of the generic methodology is based on an analysis of existing remediation methodologies and contaminated sites, and is structured in following steps:
